Privacy summary

What jobcopilot stores

• Your account: name, email address, and a one-way hash of your password (never the password itself).
• Your Candidate Profile and search preferences, as you enter or import them.
• Resumes you upload or create, their versions, and job-specific copies.
• Jobs you save or dismiss, match results, application materials, applications, interviews, and notes.
• Sign-in sessions (with the browser description) so you can review and sign out other devices.
• If you subscribe, a reference to your billing account with our payment provider, Stripe.

Who can see it

Your profile, resumes, and applications are private to you. Employers and other users can't browse or search them. Nothing is sent to an employer unless you submit it yourself on the employer's site.

Uploaded and generated resume files are kept in private storage and are only available to your signed-in account.

How AI uses your data

When you use an AI feature, only the information that feature needs is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI). Resume import sends the text of the uploaded resume. Resume generation, review, AI edits, job-specific resumes, tailoring, cover letters, and answer drafts send the relevant parts of your profile, resume, the job, and your writing preferences. Match scores are calculated without AI.

AI output is grounded in your information. It is not used to invent experience, skills, or credentials.

Payments

Paid plans are purchased through Stripe's hosted checkout. Card details go directly to Stripe; jobcopilot never sees or stores them.

Email

jobcopilot emails you when you ask to reset your password. Reset links work once and expire after 60 minutes. There is no newsletter or marketing email.

Cookies

jobcopilot uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in. It can't be read by page scripts and isn't used for advertising or tracking.

Job listings

Job listings come from public company career boards hosted on Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby. They are shared by all users and contain no information about you.

Your controls

• Download your data as a JSON file from Settings → Privacy & Data.
• Delete your account from Settings → Privacy & Data. This permanently deletes your account and everything in it.
• Review signed-in devices and sign them out from Settings → Account.
